General Membership Meeting
1/6/08
Adirondack Karting Association will hold a series of general membership meetings open to all members starting in February. The first meeting will be held Saturday February 2nd at 10:00 am. The meeting will be held at Quad Graphics which is located at 56 Duplainville Road in Saratoga Springs. Among the topics will be nominations for club officers which are President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. We will also discuss a variety of other issues/opportunities for the 2008 season. Please save the date and plan to attend. We will also hold meetings for all members Saturday March 1st to be held at the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School starting at 10:00 am. The third and final meeting will be held at the track on Saturday April 5th at 10:00 am. We will conduct the meeting as well as track cleanup. Details to follow. On Saturday March 8th the 2008 AKA officers were elected at the general membership meeting. After the votes were counted the following members will be serving as officers. President: Wally Lapan, Vice President: Craig Barker, Secretary: Barb Barker, Treasurer: Mike Emery. Congratulations to the 2008 AKA officers.
2008 Officer Elections

The Northeast Slingshot and Go-Kart Tour was unfortunately rained out. We did manage to get in two rounds of practice and one round of heat races when the rains came. The rain date will be July 26th. We will run the second heat and feature and will then go right into our regularly scheduled race day. We do realize that some racers will be travling to oter tracks for Saturday night and accomodations will be made to get you to your next event on time. Only those who signed up, paid, and competed in this original race may participate.

Northeast Slingshot and Kart Tour Rain Date

Saturday April 26th will be the first points race of the 2008 racing season. Registration opens at 9:00 am. There will be fuel and parts available. Don't forget, there is no charge for spectators. Hope to see you there.

We are pleased to announce that for the 2008 season AKA will not increase prices. We are all aware of the rising costs for just about everything from gasoline to nuts and bolts. Thanks to all our dedicated volunteers we are able to keep our costs down and pass the savings on to you the racer. We are proud to say we have not increased our pricing in the past three years. As always there is no charge for spectators. For a breakdown of pricing please go to the schedule page.

AKA would like to thank all the volunteers who took time out of their day on Saturday the 5th to help prep the track for opening. Thanks to you we are all set to go and look forward to successful season in 2008.

Saturday June 21st and Sunday June 22nd will be a double header weekend. Saturday we will run our regularly scheduled points race and Sunday the 22nd will be the make-up race for the rained out race on May 3rd. Trailers may be left overnight Saturday at the track. Gates on Sunday will open at 10:30 am with practice starting at noon.
